Curiosity Shoppe

Curiosity Shoppe Opens on West Main Street

As a hobby, Aaron Evans started The Oregon Curiosity Shoppe (now located at 2287 W. Main Street) as an Internet business about five years ago. “I would travel to many auctions and large estate sales all over the west coast,” Aaron said. “As my interent sales grew and grew, I earned my Ebay Powerseller status.”
He soon outgrew his garage, and then even his barn. “Once I found the perfect location, I invited my friend Bryan Simpson to join forces,” Aaron continued, “and we opened up our first retail location on September 1, 2009. I took a step out in faith to follow my dream and it’s working out wonderfully!”
Aaron has lived in the Rogue Valley for 20 years and has four children. Bryan has a background in woodworking, has two children and is an avid adventurer.
“Most days you can find one of our children learning the business first hand,” Aaron said. “We are a family friendly shop. It’s okay to bring your kids into our shop—we encourage it!”
Their goal was to create a true “curiosity shoppe” experience in Medford, and with the help of over 50 vendors, they have booths selling all manner of collectibles, antiques and furniture. “We have a custom jeweler and a museum-quality world goods vendor,” Aaron said. “Finial Homes and several local artisans have put their creativity and style on display. We even have tools, records and comic vendors making our shop their home.
“The number one customer comment we get besides ‘Wow!’ is the excellent prices throughout the store,” Aaron continued. “Our vendors are constantly changing and updating their themed booths. It truly is a different shopping experience every time you visit. We offer a great consignment service as well. You cannot find a lower cost consignment service with more customer service in our area.”
On November 1 they will be opening their backroom to highlight many of their consignment pieces and even more furniture and art.
Beginning this spring, they will restart their twice-a-month swap meet on their large outdoor lot. Admission is always free and spaces are available for a very reasonable rent.
The Oregon Curiosity shop is located at 2287 W. Main Street. Call 245-6113 for more information.
